Ultimate Avenger Iron Man costume is based on the Marvel Comics character. In the story, The Avenger, Iron Man teams up with other individual heroes to form a team called The Avengers. Lead by Captain America the team consist of Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Wasp, and Giant Man:

- IRON MAN – the billionaire bachelor used to doing things his own way
- THE HULK – the destructive force Bruce Banner hopes to turn into a useful team member
- THOR – a hero who has responsibilities to both the world of man and the world of gods
- WASP – a petite powerhouse who sees the team as a fresh start for her and her husband
- GIANT MAN – sixty feet tall with an equally large chip on his shoulder
- CAPTAIN AMERICA – a star-spangled idealist resurrected from a 60 year deep-freeze because this team needs a super-soldier to lead them

The Avengers held their headquarters at the Avengers Mansion, which was actually donated by Iron Man, Tony Stark. Stark also financed the groups operations and provided state of the art equipment. The group employed Stark’s butler, Edwin Jarvis, to act as the mansion’s principal servant and chief of staff. Eventually, Jarvis became the groups confidant and advisor.

Tony Stark, being the genius that he is, also drew up a charter and by-laws to help guide the team. They also sought A-1 security clearance from the federal government but faced great resistance from the team’s first National Security Council liaison, Special Agent Murch. And at the same time, the general public regarded the new team somewhat uneasily due to the fact the monstrous Hulk was also part of the team. Hulk soon quit the team in a fit of rage.

The peoples feelings towards the Avengers improved immensely after long-lost war hero Captain America joined the team. Captain American later became the leader and inspirational cornerstone of the Avengers. It was also becasue of him that the federeral government felt comfortable enough to eventually grant the team its A-1 security status. This team of superheroes also became the most respected super-hero team of its generation.

Later on, Iron Man and the original team of Avengers, except for Captain America, quit the team due to various personal reason. The successors were not other superheroes but rather ex criminals. For this reason it left quite a bit of uneasiness amongst the general public and the federal goverrnment. The new team included the Cap himself, outlaw archer Hawkeye, and mutant terrorist twin siblings Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. The public was confused at the decision but the purpose was to try to rehabilitate them and maybe make up for the mishap with the Hulk. The new roster proved to be a success, and “Cap’s Kooky Quartet” did what was expected of them and made everyone proud. The four of them had a long and fulfilling career as an Avenger.
